National Law University, Jodhpur invites online applications for admission to the Ph.D. Program in Law, Humanities & Social Sciences, and Management for the academic session 2025-26.
Available Ph.D. Programs & Seats
- Ph.D. in Law – 8 seats (UGC-JRF & NET), 7 seats (NLUJ Entrance Test), 2 seats (Foreign Nationals)
- Ph.D. in Humanities & Social Sciences (Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History, English) – 4 seats (UGC-JRF & NET), 4 seats (NLUJ Entrance Test)
- Ph.D. in Management – 4 seats (UGC-JRF & NET), 4 seats (NLUJ Entrance Test)
- Total Seats Available: 33

Eligibility
- Ph.D. in Law: LL.M. or equivalent law degree with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD/EWS candidates).
- Ph.D. in Humanities & Social Sciences: Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in relevant fields with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD/EWS candidates).
- Ph.D. in Management: Bachelor’s & Master’s degree in Management with 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/OBC (Non-Creamy Layer)/PwD/EWS candidates).
Admission Procedure
For UGC-JRF/NET Qualified Candidates & Foreign Nationals
- Exempted from Entrance Test.
- Admission through evaluation of research proposal (50%) and interview/viva-voce (50%).
- JRF-qualified candidates will be directly considered based on research proposal and interview.
For National Level Entrance Test Applicants
- Stage 1: Written Entrance Test (100 Marks)
- 50% weightage from Research Methodology (Common for all disciplines).
- 50% subject-specific MCQs (Law, Humanities & Social Sciences, or Management).
- Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted per incorrect answer.
- Minimum 50% marks required (45% for SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwD/EWS candidates) to qualify for Stage 2.
- Stage 2: Evaluation of Research Proposal & Interview (30% Weightage)
- Final Selection: Based on combined performance in Entrance Test, Research Proposal, and Interview.
