Join Indian Armed Forces as an Agniveer 2025
The Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force invite applications from eligible candidates to join as Agniveers under the Agnipath Scheme. This scheme provides young aspirants with the opportunity to serve the nation, gain valuable military experience, and receive financial benefits during and after their service.
Eligibility Criteria
1. Educational Qualification:
- Army (General Duty & Technical Trades):
- Candidates must have passed Class 10 (Matriculation) with a minimum of 45% aggregate marks and 33% marks in each subject from a recognized board.
- For technical trades, candidates must have passed Class 12 with Science (Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and English) with at least 50% marks in aggregate and 40% in each subject.
- Navy (SSR & MR):
- Senior Secondary Recruit (SSR): Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics, and at least one of Chemistry, Biology, or Computer Science from a recognized board.
- Matric Recruit (MR): Candidates must have passed Class 10 from a recognized board.
- Air Force (Science and Non-Science Groups):
- Science Group: Candidates must have passed Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
- Non-Science Group: Candidates must have passed Class 12 in any stream with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English.
- Candidates holding a 3-year Diploma in Engineering or a 2-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Mathematics are also eligible.
2. Age Limit:
- Candidates must be between 17.5 years and 21 years on the date of recruitment.
3. Physical Standards:
- Height: Minimum height varies by region and service branch.
- Army: 157 cm (varies for different regions)
- Navy: 157 cm for males, 152 cm for females
- Air Force: 152.5 cm for males, 152 cm for females
- Chest Expansion: Minimum 5 cm expansion required.
- Weight: Proportionate to height and age.
- Visual Standards: Different vision requirements for Army, Navy, and Air Force (candidates should check official guidelines).
- Fitness Tests: Candidates must qualify in a series of endurance tests, including running, push-ups, sit-ups, and other physical exercises.
Selection Process
- Phase 1: Physical Fitness Test (PFT) – Running, push-ups, sit-ups, and other endurance tests.
- Phase 2: Written Examination – Based on the syllabus provided for respective branches.
- Phase 3: Medical Examination – Candidates must be medically fit as per military standards.
- Final Merit List: Selected candidates will be called for training at respective military academies.
Service Duration & Benefits
- Duration: Agniveers will serve for 4 years, including training.
- Financial Package:
- First year salary: ₹30,000 per month (in-hand ₹21,000 after deductions).
- Annual increment: Salary increases each year.
- Seva Nidhi Package: At the end of 4 years, Agniveers receive a one-time lump sum of ₹10.04 lakh, including their savings and government contribution.
- Risk & Hardship Allowance: Applicable as per deployment.
- Insurance Coverage: ₹48 lakh life insurance policy for the entire service duration.
- Permanent Enrollment: Up to 25% of Agniveers may be selected for permanent service based on performance and merit.
- Post-Service Opportunities: Priority given in CAPF, state police, and private sector job opportunities.
