ELIGIBILITY
- M.Tech. Programmes
- Bachelor’s degree (B.E./B.Tech.) or equivalent in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (or 5.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale).
- A valid GATE/GPAT score is mandatory (as applicable to the specific programme).
- M.Sc. Programmes
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline (Science or equivalent) with at least 55% marks (or 5.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale).
- For certain specializations, candidates with valid national-level exam scores (e.g., JAM/NET) may be given preference (refer to institute website for details).
- Ph.D. Programmes
- Master’s degree in Engineering/Technology/Science in a relevant discipline with at least 55% marks (or 5.5 CGPA on a 10-point scale).
- A valid GATE/NET/JRF (or equivalent national-level test) qualification is typically required.
- For External Ph.D. registration, candidates should be employed in relevant R&D/industry/academic organizations with a minimum of two years’ experience in the proposed research area.
SCHOLARSHIP / FELLOWSHIP
- M.Tech.: Candidates with a valid GATE/GPAT score may be eligible for a stipend of ₹12,400/- per month (as per current norms).
- Ph.D.: Candidates with a valid GATE/NET/JRF or equivalent may be eligible for fellowships of ₹31,000/- per month for the initial two years, and ₹35,000/- per month thereafter (subject to institute/government regulations).

HOW TO APPLY
- Online Application:
- Visit the official DIAT website: https://www.diat.ac.in for the online application portal.
- Fill in the required details and upload the necessary documents.
- Application Fee:
- ₹500/- for General/OBC/EWS candidates.
- ₹250/- for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
- Payment can be made online as instructed on the portal.
- Supporting Documents:
- Scanned copies of mark sheets, degree certificates, GATE/NET scorecards (as applicable), photograph, signature, etc.
- Selection Process:
- Based on screening of applications, followed by an Entrance Test and/or Interview conducted by DIAT.
- Final selection is subject to fulfilling eligibility criteria and performance in the selection process.
