The Center for Quantum Science and Technologies (CQST) at IIT Mandi invites applications for its Ph.D. program for the July–December 2025 session. This program aims to train aspiring researchers in cutting-edge fields of quantum technologies and interdisciplinary domains, including quantum computing, quantum communication, and quantum information science.
Research Areas Offered
The Ph.D. positions will involve advanced research in areas including (but not limited to):

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must have a degree from a recognized university or centrally funded technical institution (CFTI) in any of the following:
- M.Tech / M.Sc. / B.Tech / B.E. in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Electronics, Quantum Optics, Device Fabrication, or related areas.
Minimum qualifications:
- At least 60% marks or 6.5 CGPA in the qualifying degree.
- Qualified in at least one national level exam: NET/JRF (any rank), GATE, DST-INSPIRE, or equivalent.
- GATE is waived for B.Tech/BE graduates from CFTIs with CGPA ≥ 8.0.
Exemptions from GATE/NET are applicable for:
- B.Tech/B.E./B.S. graduates from CFTIs/top 100 NIRF institutions or HP state institutions with CGPA ≥ 7.5
- BS-MS/M.Sc. degree holders from IITs, IISERs, IISc, or top 100 NIRF institutions with CGPA ≥ 7.5
Note: NIRF ranking must be valid for the year of admission.

- Identity proof (Aadhar, PAN, Voter ID, etc.)
- Class 10 certificate (proof of DOB)
- UG and PG mark sheets
- Rank certificate (if applicable)
- GATE/NET/CSIR/UGC certificates
- Caste certificate (if applicable)
- Updated resume and passport photo

Interview & Selection Process

- Selections will be based on academic performance, research potential, and interview.
