Three-Year Diploma & One-Year Certificate Courses in Dramatic Arts
The National School of Drama (NSD), an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, invites online applications for admission to its Three-Year Diploma and One-Year Certificate Courses in Dramatic Arts for the academic year 2025–26 / 2025–28, to be offered at its New Delhi campus and regional centres across India.

Eligibility Criteria (All Courses)
- Educational Qualification: Graduation in any discipline from a recognized university in India or abroad
- Theatre Experience:
- For 3-Year Course: Minimum 6 theatre productions
- For 1-Year Courses: Minimum 4 theatre productions
- Attach documents such as certificates, brochures, leaflets, or press clippings
- Recommendations: Three letters from reputed theatre professionals
- Age Limit: 18 to 30 years as on 1 July 2025
(Relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST, and 3 years for OBC-NCL)
Medium of Instruction
- NSD Delhi, Varanasi, Tripura: Hindi/English
- NSD Bengaluru: Kannada/English/Hindi
- NSD Sikkim: Nepali/English/Hindi
Admission Process
- Online Application Submission
- Preliminary Test ( NSD Joint Entrance Examination 2025) / Audition at designated centres
- Final Workshop & Interview (at NSD Delhi for Diploma; at regional centres for Certificates)
Admission will be based on performance, creativity, and suitability for rigorous training.
Stipend & Financial Assistance
- Three-Year Diploma (NSD Delhi):
- ₹8,500 per month as scholarship
- ₹1,500 per month for medical/travel
- Total: ₹10,000/month
- One-Year Certificate Courses (All Regional Centres):
- ₹6,000 per month as scholarship
- ₹1,000 per month for medical/travel
- Total: ₹7,000/month
Stipends are subject to satisfactory progress and attendance.

Reservation Policy (All Centres)
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 27%
- EWS: 10%
- PwD: 5%
