HBSU invites online applications for admission to the Ph.D. Programme in the following faculties (subject to availability of guides and vacant seats):

- Commerce and Management
- Interdisciplinary Studies
Eligibility criteria:
Educational Qualifications
- A 1-year/2-semester Master’s degree after a 4-year Bachelor’s degree OR a 2-year Master’s after a 3-year Bachelor’s degree OR equivalent qualification recognized by UGC with at least 55% aggregate marks or equivalent grade (5% relaxation for reserved categories as per Maharashtra Government norms).
- Candidates with a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with research (without Master’s) must have at least 75% marks (70% for reserved categories).
- M.Phil. holders with minimum 55% marks (50% for reserved categories) are also eligible.
- Candidates awaiting their M.Phil. viva-voce may apply provisionally.
- Foreign degrees equivalent to Master’s or M.Phil. must be certified by an appropriate accreditation authority.
Ph.D. Entrance Test (PET) Requirement
- HBSU does not conduct its own PET.
- Applicants must have a valid PET qualification from any UGC-recognized university or be exempted under UGC regulations (e.g., NET/ JRF/ SET/ GATE/ INSPIRE/ M.Phil.).
