Jawaharlal Nehru University invites applications for Ph.D. admissions under Winter Semester 2025-26 (Phase-II) for various Schools and Centres. Admissions will be made as per JNU Regulations and the UGC (Minimum Standards and Procedures for Award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations 2022. Selection will be based on merit, following prescribed eligibility norms and seat availability.
Programmes Offered
The Winter Semester Phase-II admission is offered for select Ph.D. programmes where seats remain vacant after Phase-I. These include programmes across multiple Schools such as School of International Studies, Life Sciences, Social Sciences, Physical Sciences, Computational & Integrative Sciences, Biotechnology, Language Literature & Culture Studies, Arts & Aesthetics, Environmental Sciences and others, as listed in the official seat matrix of the PDF.
Eligibility
A candidate must hold a Master’s degree or equivalent with the minimum marks and specific subject qualification required by the respective School/Centre. Admission Procedure
Admission will follow the JNU Ph.D. evaluation norms. Selection shall include:
Written component, if applicable.
Interview/Viva Voce evaluated on research aptitude, suitability of the research proposal, and academic preparedness.
Final merit list prepared combining applicable components as per UGC Regulations 2022.
