About the NIFT Entrance Examination 2026
The National Testing Agency (NTA), on behalf of the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT), invites online applications for the National Institute of Fashion Technology Entrance Examination (NIFTEE) 2026 for admission to Undergraduate, Postgraduate, Lateral Entry, Artisans and Ph.D. programmes for the academic session 2026–27. The examination will be held in 100 cities across India in Computer-Based Test (CBT) and Pen & Paper Test (PBT) modes depending on the exam component.
Programmes Offered
NIFTEE 2026 Stage 1 will cover admissions to the following:
Undergraduate Programmes (UG)
Bachelor of Design (B.Des.)
Bachelor of Fashion Technology (B.F.Tech.)
Selection:
B.Des – GAT + CAT, followed by Situation Test
B.F.Tech – GAT only
Candidates applying for B.F.Tech. with Mathematics can also opt for B.Des. by taking CAT along with GAT.
Postgraduate Programmes (PG)
Master of Design (M.Des.)
Master of Fashion Management (M.F.M.)
Master of Fashion Technology (M.F.Tech.)

Applications under the Artisans category are invited for B.Des. programme as per NIFT provisions.

Selection process includes:

Research Proposal Presentation
Interview (RPPI)
Applicants from NRI, Foreign National, OCI, PIO and SAARC categories may apply according to NIFT’s prescribed norms. Their admissions will be processed directly by NIFT.

Candidates must meet all eligibility conditions of age, education, subject combinations, category-specific norms, and other criteria mentioned in the NIFT Admissions Guidelines 2026 and the NIFTEE Information Bulletin. These documents must be read carefully before applying.

Exam Cities
The exam will be conducted across 100 cities in India as listed in Annexure 1 of the public notice. Cities include Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Chennai, Hyderabad, and others.
Important Instructions
Candidates may be required to complete Aadhaar-based e-KYC during application submission.
Applicants must upload a scanned photograph, signature and a live photograph as per the Information Bulletin.
PwD/PwBD candidates must upload a valid UDID card in the prescribed format.
