Admission Notification for Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (2 Years) Programme
Academic Session: 2025–26
Applications are invited from eligible candidates for admission to the Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing (2 Years) programme through the Common Nursing Entrance Test (CNET) – 2025, conducted by Atal Bihari Vajpayee Medical University (ABVMU), Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. Admissions will be based solely on performance in CNET-2025. No direct admissions will be allowed.
This entrance test is applicable for admissions to:
- All Government and Private Nursing Colleges affiliated with ABVMU

Eligibility for 2 Year BSc Nursing Program, ABVMU Lucknow
- Minimum Age: 17 years as on or before 31 December 2025
- Educational Qualifications (as per INC norms):
- Passed 10+2 (Higher Secondary/Intermediate or equivalent); those who did 10+1 before 1986 are also eligible
- Must have obtained a certificate in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) and be registered as R.N.R.M. with the State Nursing Council
- Male nurses trained before the new integrated curriculum must submit proof of training in any one of the following approved specialities:
- O.T. Techniques
- Ophthalmic Nursing
- Leprosy Nursing
- TB Nursing
- Psychiatric Nursing
- Neurological/Neurosurgical Nursing
- Community Health Nursing
- Cancer Nursing
- Orthopaedic Nursing
- Colour blind candidates are eligible with corrective lenses
- Married candidates are eligible
- Final admission subject to medical fitness certified by Government Medical Board/CMO
Examination Fee (Non-refundable)
- UR/OBC: ₹3000
- SC/ST/PwD: ₹2000

Reservation Policy
- As per Government of Uttar Pradesh guidelines
- PwD Candidates: 5% horizontal reservation for those with 40–50% loco-motor disability (lower extremity)
- Valid domicile of Uttar Pradesh required for admission in Government Nursing Colleges (via certificate OR passing both 10th and 12th OR GNM from UP)
- Valid certificates required for all reserved categories (issued by competent UP authority and verifiable online)
- OBC/EWS certificates must be issued on or after 1 April 2025
- EWS quota of 10% applicable (subject to state rules)
- Reservation benefits also available for dependents of Freedom Fighters, Ex-servicemen, and holders of valid NCC ‘C’ certificate (Grade B)

Admit Card
- Available for download from 14 May 2025 on the official website
- Carry color printout and valid photo ID
- Digital copies not accepted
- Admit card will have venue and timing details
Exam Day Instructions
- Reporting Time: 9:00 AM
- No Entry After: 10:15 AM
- Biometric verification is mandatory
- No candidate can leave the hall before end time
- All original and office copies of OMR sheets must be submitted to the invigilator
Barred Items: Mobile phones, electronics, watches, wallets, bags, food items, books, and stationery (only admit card and ID allowed)
Unfair Practices & Disqualification
- Includes cheating, impersonation, smuggling of materials, manipulating documents or OMR sheets, etc.
- Offenders will face:
- Result cancellation
- 3-year debarment
- Possible criminal/legal action
Result, Merit List & Counselling
- Result Date: To be notified on the official website
- Merit List: Combined and category-wise
- Tie-Breaking Criteria:
- Higher marks in Section A
- Then Section B, then Section C
- Older age
- Counselling: Based on merit list; schedule to be announced after result
- Admission: Allotment strictly as per merit and counselling; fee to be deposited within stipulated time
Legal Jurisdiction
- In case of disputes, jurisdiction lies with Lucknow Courts and Allahabad High Court, Lucknow Bench
- In case of discrepancy in versions, English version of the Information Bulletin will be final
