About AP POLYCET 2025
The Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (POLYCET) is conducted by the State Board of Technical Education and Training, Andhra Pradesh (SBTET AP) for admission into Diploma-level programs in Government, Aided, Private, and Un-aided Polytechnics and Second Shift Polytechnics in Engineering Colleges across Andhra Pradesh.
Eligibility
- Candidates must have passed or appeared for the SSC (10th Class) Examination conducted by the State Board of Secondary Education, Andhra Pradesh/Telangana or an equivalent exam.
- There is no age limit to appear for POLYCET 2025.
Important Dates
- Start of Online Applications: 12 March 2025
- Last Date for Application Submission: 15 April 2025
- Date of Examination: 30 April 2025 (11:00 AM – 1:00 PM)
- Tentative Result Declaration: 10 May 2025
Examination Details
- Mode: Offline (Pen and Paper-based)
- Duration: 2 Hours
- Subjects & Marks Distribution:
- Mathematics: 50 Questions
- Physics: 40 Questions
- Chemistry: 30 Questions
- Total Questions: 120 (Objective Type)
- Marking Scheme: 1 mark per question; no negative marking
Application Process
- Candidates must apply online at https://polycetap.nic.in.
- Application Fee:
- ₹400 for General/BC candidates
- ₹100 for SC/ST candidates
- Candidates can visit designated Helpline Centers (HLCs) for application assistance.
Scholarships & Fee Reimbursement
- Various state and central government scholarship schemes are available, including:
- Pragati Scholarship (for girl students)
- Saksham Scholarship (for specially-abled students)
- Swanath Scholarship (for orphans and children of martyrs)
- Fee exemption and reimbursement available for eligible candidates (Refer to the Information Brochure for more details).
Reservation Criteria
Seats are reserved as per Government norms:
- Scheduled Castes (SC): 15%
- Scheduled Tribes (ST): 6%
- Backward Classes (BC): 29% (A: 7%, B: 10%, C: 1%, D: 7%, E: 4%)
- Persons with Disabilities (PWD): 5%
- Children of Armed Personnel (CAP): 2%
- NCC/Sports Quota: 1.5%

Admission Procedure
- Admission is based on POLYCET rank and web-based counseling.
- Candidates must attend online counseling to select their preferred institutes and courses.
Hall Ticket & Examination Centers
- Candidates must download their Hall Ticket from the official website before the exam.
- The exam will be conducted at multiple centers across Andhra Pradesh (including special centers for Urdu medium students).
