About IIIT Pune
Indian Institute of Information Technology Pune is an Institute of National Importance set up under an Act of Parliament in 2017. It offers B.Tech, M.Tech, and Ph.D. programmes in Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering, and Applied Science & Humanities. The permanent campus is being developed at Nanoli, Pune, while the temporary campus operates from Ambegaon Budruk, Sinhagad Institute Road, Pune. IIIT Pune provides residential facilities to students based on availability.

Eligibility
- Ph.D. in CSE and ECE:
- M.Tech/ME in relevant fields with B.Tech/BE in Engineering/Technology with First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent CGPA.
- Candidates from industry need one to three years of relevant experience.
- A valid GATE score is desirable for candidates from academic institutions or other candidates.
- Ph.D. in Applied Science and Humanities:
- Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees in Basic Sciences or Arts in English with First Class or 60% marks (55% for SC/ST/PwD) or equivalent CGPA.
- Candidates from industry need one to three years of relevant experience.
- A valid GATE/NET score is desirable for candidates from academic institutions or other candidates.
Admission Procedure (IIIT Pune Ph.D 2025)
- Selection will be based on a written test and/or interview.
- The written test syllabus will align with GATE/NET syllabi relevant to the discipline.
- Shortlisting may be based on academic performance.
- No TA/DA will be provided for attending the test or interview.

- Total Ph.D. programme fee for 2025-26 is approximately Rs. 82,000 per year.
