Programme Overview
The M.Tech in Machine Learning and Computing offered by the Department of Mathematics, IIST is a prestigious two-year (four-semester) postgraduate programme launched in 2010. Admission to the programme is based on a valid GATE score and subsequent interview. The course integrates advanced mathematical foundations with modern machine learning, data science, and computing techniques. A few seats are also reserved for ISRO scientists.

Eligibility & General Conditions
- Citizenship: Only Indian citizens are eligible
- Qualification: Valid GATE score in relevant discipline

- Application Fee:
- ₹600 for Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates
- ₹300 for SC/ST/PwD and all women candidates
- Seat Acceptance Fee (on confirmation): ₹14,200/- (includes hostel and other fees)
- Reservation: As per Government of India norms
- Candidates from reserved categories (OBC-NCL, EWS, SC, ST, PwD) must upload valid certificates; GEN-EWS/OBC-NCL must have certificate dated 01/04/2025 or later
- Working professionals in Govt./PSU must produce a No Objection Certificate at the time of interview
