NIRDPR PGDGARD Admission 2025–26, Distance Learning Program
The National Institute of Rural Development and Panchayati Raj (NIRDPR) invites online applications for the 10th batch of its AICTE-approved Post Graduate Diploma in Geospatial Technology Applications in Rural Development (PGDGARD) for the academic year 2025–26. Offered via distance mode, this unique 18-month diploma is designed to empower professionals and graduates with technical knowledge in GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS, and decision-making for rural development planning.
About the Programme
PGDGARD focuses on integrating geospatial technologies with grassroots-level planning and governance. The programme is ideal for professionals engaged in sectors like agriculture, forestry, health, education, engineering, disaster management, ICT, infrastructure, and those associated with World Bank, UNDP, FAO, IFAD, and similar projects.
Programme Objectives
- Build understanding of GIS, Remote Sensing, GPS tools and applications
- Develop capacity for spatial analysis and decision-making in rural development
- Equip learners with practical knowledge of data visualization, resource mapping, and geo-informatics tools
- Promote use of geospatial technologies for e-governance and real-time planning

Semester II
- GARD-507: Satellite Remote Sensing – II
- GARD-508: Spatial Data Analysis and Modelling
- GARD-509: Spatial Decision Support System for Rural Development
- GARD-510: Natural Resource Management
Semester III
- GARD-511: Project Work (Field-based research and application)
Evaluation Pattern
- Each theory course: 100 marks (30 for assignments, 70 for term-end exam)
- Project Work: 200 marks

- Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a UGC-recognised university
- Reservation as per Government of India norms
