University of Sanskrit PG Programs 2025

(MA / M.Sc. / MSW / MPES / MFA / Dual Main Masters in Disaster Management)

Applications are invited for admission to various Postgraduate Degree Programmes for the academic year 2025–2026 at Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit (SSUS), Kalady, and its Regional Centres. Admission will be based on Entrance Examination and/or Interview scheduled from 30 April to 5 May 2025.

Programmes Offered

A) M.A. (Master of Arts)

Offered in subjects including Malayalam, Hindi, English, Sanskrit Sahitya, Vedanta, Vyakarana, Nyaya, Comparative Literature, Music, Dance (Bharathanatyam, Mohiniyattom), Theatre, Urdu, History, Philosophy, Museology, Sociology, and Arabic. Programmes are offered across the Main Centre (Kalady) and Regional Centres in Payyannur, Koyilandy, Tirur, Panmana, Ettumanoor, and Thiruvananthapuram.

B) M.Sc. (Master of Science)

  • Geography
  • Psychology

C) MSW (Master of Social Work)

Offered at Kalady, Tirur, and Payyannur.

D) MPES (Master of Physical Education and Sports)

Offered at Kalady.

E) MFA (Master of Fine Arts in Visual Arts)

Offered at Kalady.

F) Dual Main Masters in Disaster Management

Eligibility

General PG Programmes (MA/MSc/MSW)

  • Must hold a Bachelor’s degree (10+2+3 / 10+2+4 / 10+2+5) from a recognized university.
  • Final semester students (appearing in April 2025) may apply provisionally.

MFA (Visual Arts)

  • BFA degree with minimum 55% marks.
  • Selection based on Written Test (50 marks) + Interview/Portfolio (50 marks).

MPES

  • B.P.Ed/B.P.E.S/B.Sc. (Sports Coaching) with 50% marks; age below 28 years as on 1 July 2025.
  • Selection based on:
    • Written Test – 50 Marks
    • Game Proficiency – 25 Marks
    • Physical Fitness (AAHPERD) – 15 Marks
    • Sports Achievements – 10 Marks

Music, Dance, Theatre (MA)

  • Candidates must pass an aptitude/practical test in addition to the written entrance exam.

Entrance Examination Details

  • Dates: 30 April to 5 May 2025
  • Duration: 2 hours per paper
  • Mode: Written (100 Marks); for specific programmes, includes practical tests
  • Minimum Qualifying Marks:
    • General: 40%
    • MSW/MPES: 50%
    • SC/ST/DA/Transgender: 5% relaxation

Language of Answering: English / Malayalam / Sanskrit / Hindi


Application Process

  • Apply online via www.ssus.ac.in on or before 16 April 2025.
  • Candidates may apply for up to three programmes (separate application required for each).
  • Submit printout of application along with entrance fee receipt and required documents at the time of interview.

Hostel Facilities

  • Available for boys and girls at Main Centre (Kalady)
  • Girls only at Payyannur, Tirur, and Koyilandy Regional Centres

  • Admission is provisional until final degree certificates are verified.
  • The University may alter or cancel any programme based on administrative discretion.
  • Ragging is strictly prohibited under Kerala Prohibition of Ragging Act, 1998 and UGC Regulations, 2009.
