Admission Alert: AIIA PhD 2025 Ayurveda

All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), affiliated with the University of Delhi, invites applications for admission to the Ph.D. (Ayurveda) program for the academic session 2025-26.

Eligibility

  • MD/MS (Ayurveda) from a recognized university.
  • Candidates with a Master’s degree in allied/interdisciplinary subjects such as AYUSH disciplines, Diet & Nutrition, Pharmaceutical Sciences (M.Pharm – Ayurveda), Pharmacology, Medical Plant Sciences, Medicinal Chemistry, Food Science & Technology, etc., may also apply.
  • A minimum of 55% aggregate marks (or equivalent grade) is required (5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates).
  • Exemptions from Entrance Test:
    • UGC-NET/JRF/SLET/AYUSH-NET/CSIR-NET qualified candidates.
    • Permanent faculty members of AIIA and A&U Tibbia College.
    • However, all eligible candidates must appear for the interview.

Application Process

  • Candidates must apply online at www.aiia.gov.in.
  • Last date to submit the application: April 7, 2025
  • Application Fee:
    • ₹2500 for SC/ST/PwD candidates.
    • ₹3000 for General/OBC/EWS candidates.
  • The fee is non-refundable and must be paid online.

Selection Process

  1. Entrance Exam (Mandatory for non-exempted candidates)
    • Date: April 19, 2025
    • Location: All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), New Delhi
    • Duration: 75 minutes
    • Format: Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs)
    • Syllabus: Research Methodology, General Knowledge of Ayurveda, and Subject-Specific Topics
    • Negative Marking: 1/4th deduction per incorrect answer
    • Minimum Qualifying Marks: 50% (Relaxation for reserved categories as per DU norms)
  2. Interview
    • Shortlisted candidates must present their research interest before an expert panel.

Seats Available

  • The Ph.D. program is offered in 12 specializations, including Kayachikitsa, Panchakarma, Dravyaguna, Roga Nidana, Shalya Tantra, Shalakya Tantra, Swasthavritta, Prasooti Tantra, and others.
  • Seats are divided into stipendiary and non-stipendiary categories.
  • Foreign nationals and in-service candidates will be admitted under non-stipendiary seats.

Additional Information

  • Foreign applicants must apply through the Foreign Students’ Registry (FSR) of Delhi University.
  • Reservation policies apply as per University of Delhi and Government of India norms.
  • Selected candidates must submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) if employed.
