The National Law School of India University (NLSIU), Bengaluru, a premier institution in higher education, invites applications for its newly launched 3-Year B.A. (Hons.) Programme, commencing from the academic year 2025–26. This innovative, multidisciplinary undergraduate programme builds upon the university’s long-standing academic excellence and aims to offer students a rigorous yet flexible education in the social sciences and humanities with career-relevant skills.

Admission Through: National Law School Admission Test – BA (NLSAT–BA)
Programme Duration: 3 Years (with optional 4th Year – Research Track)
Degree Offered: Bachelor of Arts (Honours) / Bachelor of Arts (Honours with Research)
Programme Structure and Key Features:
- Total Credits:
- 3-Year Track: 148 credits
- 4-Year Track (with Research): 172 credits
- Core Curriculum:
- Six interdisciplinary Common Core Courses in the first year: Narrative, Numbers, Society, Power, History, Economy (6 x 4 = 24 credits)
- “Professional Life” orientation course in Term 1 (pass/fail)
- Majors and Minors:
- Students declare their first major at admission and a second major or minor by end of Year 1.
- Available Disciplines: History, Sociology & Anthropology, Politics, Economics
- Planned future disciplines: Philosophy, Literature, Environmental Studies, Data Analytics
- Major: 6 Core Courses + 16 Elective credits = 40 credits
- Minor: 4 Core Courses + 8 Elective credits = 24 credits
- Double Major Option also available (replaces minor track)
- Open Electives:
- 36 credits for major-minor track
- 20 credits for double-major track
- Includes optional Advanced Language course
- Practice Courses:
- 3 mandatory courses (4 credits each) taught by industry professionals in areas such as:

- 3 mandatory courses (4 credits each) taught by industry professionals in areas such as:
- Language Requirement:
- Beginner and Intermediate levels in either Hindi or Kannada (4 credits each, pass/fail/honours)
- Advanced level available as elective
- Internships:
- Minimum one-month internship each year
- 4 credits awarded based on internal and external assessment reports
- Fourth Year (Optional – Research Track):
- Based on academic performance
- 20,000-word dissertation (16 credits)
- 8 credits through Teaching or Research Assistantship
- Degree awarded: B.A. (Hons. with Research)
