The Government of Maharashtra invites young, dynamic, and socially committed individuals to be part of the Chief Minister Fellowship Program 2025–26. This prestigious and intensive program offers youth an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to public service and development initiatives of the state while gaining valuable administrative and policy-level experience.
About the Program:
The Chief Minister Fellowship (CMF) is a 12-month full-time engagement that aims to harness the talents of youth by involving them in various government projects at district and state levels. Fellows will work alongside senior officials and contribute to policy implementation and governance reforms. The program also includes academic training and certification from IIT Bombay.
Key Features:
- Opportunity to work closely with the Government of Maharashtra

- Postgraduate certificate in Public Policy from IIT Bombay
- Monthly stipend of ₹61,500 (₹56,100 honorarium + ₹5,400 allowance)
- On-ground exposure to governance, research, and public administration
Eligibility Criteria:
- Age: Between 21 and 26 years as on the last date of application.
- Citizenship: Must be an Indian citizen.
- Education: Graduate degree in any discipline with minimum 60% marks.
- Experience: At least 1 year of work experience (including internships or entrepreneurial/self-employment experience).
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluent in Marathi (read, write, speak)
- Working knowledge of English and Hindi
- Technical Skills: Must be computer and internet literate.
Fellowship Intake:
- Total positions: 60 Fellows
- One-third (1/3) reserved for women candidates

- Selection involves:
- Online objective test
- Essay submission
- Personal interview in Mumbai
- Final selection based on merit: Objective Test (30 marks), Essay (20 marks), Interview (50 marks)
Academic Component:
Fellows will undergo a Postgraduate Certificate Course in Public Policy designed and delivered in partnership with IIT Bombay. The training includes:
- Two weeks of offline sessions at the beginning
- One week mid-program and one week at the end
- Additional online modules, workshops, and assignments
Fellowship Tenure and Commitment:
- Duration: 12 months (no extension allowed)
- Fellows will be deployed in groups across Maharashtra’s districts and government departments.
- Submission of monthly performance reports is mandatory.
- Participation in both the fieldwork and academic components is compulsory.
