Indian Air Force – AFCAT 01/2026 Notification for Flying & Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) Branches
The Indian Air Force (IAF) invites applications from eligible men and women for AFCAT 01/2026 to join as Commissioned Officers in Flying and Ground Duty (Technical and Non-Technical) branches. Applications are also invited for NCC Special Entry (Flying Branch).
Courses Commencing: January 2027
Branches and Type of Entry:
- Flying Branch (AFCAT and NCC Special Entry)
- Ground Duty (Technical) – Aeronautical Engineer (Electronics/Mechanical)
- Ground Duty (Non-Technical) – Administration, Logistics, Accounts, Education, Meteorology, and others
Eligibility (as per detailed notification):
- Nationality: Indian citizens only.
- Age:
- Flying Branch: 20 to 24 years as on 01 January 2027 (born between 02 January 2003 and 01 January 2007, both dates inclusive).
- Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years as on 01 January 2027 (born between 02 January 2001 and 01 January 2007, both dates inclusive).
- Educational Qualifications: Candidates must have passed with minimum 50% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level and a graduation degree as per branch-specific requirements (detailed in official notification).
Selection Process:
- AFCAT Written Examination
- AFSB (Air Force Selection Board) Interview
- Medical Examination
