The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU)
The English and Foreign Languages University (EFLU), a Central University with its main campus in Hyderabad and regional campuses in Shillong and Lucknow, offers specialized Postgraduate Diploma programmes in language teaching, translation, and material development. These full-time programmes are designed for learners with academic or professional backgrounds in English, Arabic, or linguistics-related fields.

Entrance Test Details
All programmes require candidates to appear for an entrance test. Details are as follows:
For PGDTE, PGDT, PGDMD:
- Duration: 2 hours
- Sections:
- English Language Proficiency – 50 marks
- Domain Knowledge – 50 marks
For PGDTA:
- Duration: 2 hours
- Sections:
- Arabic Proficiency and Literature – 75 marks
- Domain Knowledge – 25 marks
Cut-off Marks (Minimum):
- Unreserved/OBC (Creamy Layer): 50%
- OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 45%
- SC/ST/PwD: 30%

Fellowships and Financial Assistance
For EFLU PG Diploma 2025-26 Programs
- Merit-cum-Means Fellowship available for eligible Indian students with annual parental income below ₹1,50,000.
- Additional book allowance and tuition fee exemptions available as per university rules.
- Specific stipends and allowances for visually and physically challenged students.
Hostel Accommodation
- Subject to availability, hostel rooms are allotted on a sharing basis for outstation full-time students.
- Hostel rules apply. Ph.D. students may stay year-round; others may need to vacate during vacations.
Reservation Policy
EFLU follows Government of India norms for reservation across SC, ST, OBC, EWS, PwD, Kashmiri Migrants, and Wards of Defence Personnel.
Admission Process
- All admissions are provisional and subject to verification of eligibility and documents.
- Mere appearance in the entrance test does not guarantee admission.
- Final selection is based on merit in the entrance test and fulfilment of eligibility criteria.
