About FTII
The Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune, established in 1960, is one of India’s premier film and television educational institutes. It functions under the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting, Government of India, and has been granted “Deemed to be University” status under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. FTII offers comprehensive academic programs in filmmaking, television production, and allied arts, combining state-of-the-art infrastructure, acclaimed faculty, global collaborations, and a vibrant student culture. FTII is also a member of CILECT – the international association of film and television schools.

FTII offers academic programs through its Film Wing and Television Wing.
Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Cinema – Film Wing

Reservation Policy
- Reservations for SC, ST, OBC-NCL, EWS, and PwD candidates are applicable as per Government of India norms.
- Specific horizontal reservations exist for various PwD categories across programs.
Selection Process
For FTII Pune MFA PG Certificate Courses 2025
Admission is based on the FTII-Entrance Test (FTII-ET-2024-25) conducted in two stages:
Stage 1: Written Test (Computer Based Test)
- Paper I: Objective MCQ (60 Marks)
- 30 questions, +2 for correct, -0.5 for wrong answer
- Paper II: Subjective (40 Marks)
- Total: 100 Marks (Paper I + Paper II)
- Duration: 2 Hours
Stage 2: Mixed Format Assessment (Practical, Analytical, Performance & Interaction)
- Conducted at FTII Pune campus.
- Carries 70% weightage in final merit calculation.
Final Merit List:
- Stage 1: 30% weightage
- Stage 2: 70% weightage
Test Centers (Written Test)
Written tests will be conducted at 26 cities across India including:
Agartala, Ahmedabad, Prayagraj, Bengaluru, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Dehradun, Guwahati, Gangtok, Hyderabad, Imphal, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai, New Delhi, Patna, Port Blair, Pune, Raipur, Ranchi, Srinagar, Thiruvananthapuram.
Candidates can select up to 3 centers in order of preference.
