Admission Alert: IISER Bhopal MA in Liberal Arts 2025-26
Applications are now open for the MA programme in Liberal Arts for the academic session starting August 2025.
Eligibility Requirements
A. Educational Qualification:
Applicants must hold a bachelor’s degree in a relevant discipline.
B. Minimum Marks/CGPA/CPI Criteria:
- Candidates must have secured at least 60% marks or a CGPA/CPI of 7.0 on a 10-point scale in their qualifying degree (overall score, not just in the major subject).
- Relaxation in marks or an equivalent grade will be provided for candidates from reserved categories as per Government of India regulations.
Grade Conversion Rules:
- If only marks are provided on the transcript, percentage will be considered.
- If only grades are mentioned, CGPA/CPI will be taken into account.
- If CGPA/CPI is reported on a scale other than 10, it will be converted using the formula:
CGPA/CPI on a 10-point scale = (CGPA/CPI Obtained ×10) / Point Scale used by the University.
Age Criteria
- The preferred maximum age for applicants is 28 years.
- Relaxation of 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 5 years for SC/ST/PWD/Female candidates.
- Age will be calculated based on the last date for submitting applications.
- Only the Date of Birth recorded in the Matriculation/Secondary Examination Certificate or Aadhaar Card will be considered.
Selection Process
- Eligible candidates must appear for an entrance test.
- Shortlisted applicants based on test performance will be invited for an interview.
- The schedule for the entrance test and interview will be notified via email and updated on the Institute’s website.
- SC/ST candidates attending the entrance exam will be eligible for Travel Allowance (TA) as per Government of India norms.

Those who qualify in the test will be invited for an interview. The final selection results will be shared via email and the official website.
