Academic Session 2025–26 | IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi & IIT Bombay
The Government of the Union Territory of Ladakh, in collaboration with IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, and IIT Bombay, invites online applications for admission to sponsored M.Tech. and Ph.D. programs in various engineering and science disciplines for the academic session 2025–26. The initiative offers financial support, academic fee waiver, and placement-linked service in Ladakh after course completion.
Sponsored M.Tech. Program (2 Years)
Participating Institutes: IIT Kanpur, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay
Total Seats: 12 (4 per IIT)
Monthly Scholarship: ₹25,000

Eligibility

| Residence | Must be a permanent resident of UT Ladakh |
| Educational Qualification | B.Tech./B.E. or M.Sc. (after B.Sc.) – completed or in final year |
| Minimum Marks | 60% or 6.0 CGPA (5% relaxation for SC/ST/PwD) |
| GATE Requirement | Not required (as this is a sponsored program) |
Note: A valid proof of Ladakh domicile (Aadhar/PAN/Voter ID etc.) is mandatory.
Admission Process
- Based on academic performance, projects/internships, extracurriculars, and department-specific criteria.
- Final selection by the respective IITs.
- Sponsored by UT Ladakh; academic fee waived.
- Students bear living expenses (hostel, mess, etc.).
Service Bond: A 3-year compulsory service in UT Ladakh post-course completion.

Eligibility Criteria
| Route | Qualification Requirements |

| Master’s Degree | In a relevant field with minimum 55% or 5.5 CPI |
| B.Tech./B.E. | Minimum 75% or 7.5 CPI + valid GATE (waived for CFTI graduates) |
| M.Sc. Candidates | 65% in PG, first division in UG, and valid JRF or GATE |
| MCA (For CSE) | Same criteria as M.Sc. applicants |
Relaxation in qualifying marks as per GoI norms for reserved categories.
Admission Process
- Online application and review of academic background.
- Shortlisted candidates will appear for test/interview.
- Final selection by respective IIT departments.
Fee & Benefits:
- Academic fee covered by UT Ladakh.
- Hostel/mess/living expenses to be borne by candidates.
- 3-year compulsory service bond in Ladakh after completion.
