IPR is engaged in cutting-edge research and development in basic plasma physics, magnetic confinement fusion, and plasma-based technologies with both theoretical and experimental approaches.

- Facilitation Center for Industrial Plasma Technologies (FCIPT): GIDC, Gandhinagar, Gujarat
- Center for Plasma Physics (CPP): Sonapur, Near Guwahati, Assam
Programme Highlights
- Area of Research: Plasma physics, magnetic fusion, theoretical & computational physics, experimental physics, industrial plasma applications
- Ph.D. offered under the doctoral programme of Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI)
- Selected candidates will be paid fellowship and HRA as per Government norms
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification:
M.Sc. in Physics or equivalent degree with minimum 60% marks or equivalent CGPA from a recognized university - Qualifying Exam:
Candidates must have qualified at least one of the following national level exams:- JEST 2025
- CSIR-UGC NET (Physics)
- GATE in Physics
- Candidates awaiting results for final semester/year may also apply
