Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB)
The Regional Centre for Biotechnology (RCB), an Institution of National Importance established by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India, under the auspices of UNESCO, invites applications for admission to its Ph.D. Programme in Biotechnology for the Academic Year 2025-26 (Monsoon Semester). RCB offers cutting-edge research opportunities at the interface of multiple disciplines in state-of-the-art facilities.
About the RCB Faridabad PhD 2025 Program
The Ph.D. program at RCB leads to the award of a doctoral degree. Selected students undergo coursework and research under the mentorship of RCB faculty in areas such as:
- Structural Biology
- Molecular Medicine
- Infectious Disease Biology
- Agricultural Biotechnology
- Systems and Synthetic Biology
- Cancer and Cell Biology
Students must hold a valid fellowship to cover the duration of their program.
Eligibility
- Educational Qualification:
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in any area of Science, Medicine, or Technology.
- MBBS degree or equivalent is also eligible.
- Minimum Marks:
- 60% aggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying degree.
- 5% relaxation for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/Differently-abled candidates as per Government of India norms.
- Valid Fellowship Requirement: Candidates must have qualified for and hold a valid fellowship from:
- CSIR-UGC JRF
- DBT-JRF
- ICMR-JRF
- Any other nationally competitive fellowship recognized by the Government of India
- Fellowship must be valid and tenable for a period of 5 years.

- Total Seats Available: 17
- Reservation: As per Government of India guidelines.
Selection Procedure
- Eligible candidates will be called for a Written Test and/or Interview scheduled to be held on 3rd and 4th July 2025 at RCB, Faridabad.
- Final selection will be based on performance in the written test/interview.

- Ph.D. Thesis Examination Fee: Rs. 10,000 (at the time of thesis submission)
- Hostel electricity and mess charges are payable separately as per actual usage.
Note: Fees may be revised during the course tenure as per RCB ordinance.
