Announcement: West Bengal Centralised UG Admission Portal 2025-26 Now Live
In a significant step to streamline the undergraduate admissions process, the West Bengal State Council of Higher Education has launched a Centralised Admission Portal for the academic year 2025-26. The portal, designed to simplify and digitise the admission process for students, went live from 2:00 PM on 17th June 2025.
This initiative enables students to apply online for Undergraduate (UG) Courses in 17 universities and 460 government and government-aided colleges/ higher education institutions across the state through a single platform. The move aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and accessibility in the admissions process, reducing the hassle of visiting multiple institutions for applications.
The participating institutions include Presidency University, Jadavpur University, autonomous colleges, minority educational institutions/colleges, and state-aided universities covering a wide spectrum of disciplines such as Arts, Science, Commerce, Engineering, Pharmacy, Nursing, Medical, Law, and Self-financing private colleges that fall under the purview of the centralised admission mechanism.

It is a Good Initiative
Normaly the admission process in many states and government universities is a mess. This centralised system not only reduces the stress for students and their families but also ensures a more uniform and equitable admission process across institutions. It reflects West Bengal’s growing emphasis on digital governance in education and will likely serve as a model for other states.
