Admission Alert : BRIC NIBMG PhD in Biomedical Genomics 2025–26
National Institute of Biomedical Genomics (NIBMG), Kalyani, West Bengal
NIBMG invites online applications from eligible candidates to pursue full-time residential doctoral research in the field of Biomedical Genomics for the academic session 2025–26. The programme focuses on human diseases using genomic tools and models and is supported through fellowships awarded by external funding agencies.
Research Areas
Candidates will undertake research in the following broad areas:
- Cancer
- Chronic Disease
- Computational Biology and Statistical Genomics
- Infectious Disease
Fellowship
- As per rules of the Government of India and the respective funding agency.
- Note: NIBMG does not provide fellowships directly. Candidates must have a valid JRF fellowship.
Eligibility Criteria

| Educational Qualification | M.Sc. in any science stream or 4-year B.Tech. with at least 55% marks or equivalent GPA (relaxation of 5% for SC/ST/OBC/PWD) |
| Valid Fellowship | Must hold a valid JRF from CSIR-UGC/DBT/ICMR/DBT-BINC/NBHM (valid until at least 31 March 2026); DST-Inspire & ICAR JRF not accepted |
| Age Limit | 28 years (relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST/Women/PWD and 3 years for OBC) |
