About CLAT
The Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) is a national level entrance exam conducted for admissions to Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) law programs offered by 24 National Law Universities (NLUs) in India. The exam is organized by the Consortium of National Law Universities, which comprises representative NLUs across the country.
Several affiliate universities and organizations also consider CLAT scores for admissions and recruitment.
All admissions to the 5-year integrated LL.B. and one-year LL.M. programmes commencing in the Academic Year 2026-27 shall be based on CLAT 2026 scores.
Important Dates
- Online Application Opens: 01 August 2025
- Online Application Closes: 31 October 2025
- CLAT 2026 Examination (Offline Mode): 07 December 2025 (2:00 PM – 4:00 PM)
- PwD Candidates Timing: 2:00 PM – 4:40 PM
Undergraduate Programme (Five-Year Integrated Law Degree)
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed Class 12 (10+2) or an equivalent examination with:
- Minimum 45% marks or its equivalent grade.
- 40% marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in March/April 2026 are also eligible to apply.
Postgraduate Programme (One-Year LL.M. Degree)
Educational Qualification: An LL.B. Degree or equivalent with a minimum of:
- 50% marks or its equivalent grade.
- 45% marks or equivalent in case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/PwD categories.
- Candidates appearing for their qualifying examination in April/May 2026 are also eligible to apply.
Application Fee
- ₹ 4,000 – For General category candidates
- ₹ 3,500 – For SC/ST/PwD/BPL candidates
