Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), located at Valiamala, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, is a Deemed University under the Department of Space, Government of India. It is the first of its kind in India to offer high-quality education and research dedicated to space science, technology, and applications. IIST is ranked among the top 51 engineering institutes in India (NIRF 2024) and has recently received an A+ NAAC accreditation.

Eligibility
- Citizenship: Indian Citizens and OCI/PIO cardholders (treated under General Category; not eligible for ISRO jobs).
- DOB Cutoff: On or after 1 Oct 2000 (Gen/OBC/EWS); on or after 1 Oct 1995 (SC/ST/PD).
- Academic: 10+2 with minimum aggregate marks: 75% (Gen/OBC/EWS), 65% (SC/ST/PD) in PCM + language + one additional subject.
- JEE (Advanced) 2025: Must meet minimum cutoffs (General: 72 aggregate; 6 in each subject; relaxed for reserved categories).

Selection Criteria
For the IIST UG 2025 Admissions
Admission is solely based on JEE (Advanced) 2025 Rank, subject to meeting cutoff criteria and successful IIST online registration. Rank list ties resolved by higher marks in:
- Mathematics
- Physics
- JEE (Main) 2025
Reservation Policy
- SC: 15%
- ST: 7.5%
- OBC-NCL: 27%
- EWS: 10%
- PD: 5% (horizontal)
- Women Supernumerary: 10% additional
- PMSSS (J&K): Supernumerary in AE & ECE
Placement and ISRO Absorption
IIST offers unique opportunities for direct absorption into ISRO/DOS as Scientist/Engineer-SC subject to:
- CGPA ≥ 7.5 by final year
- Meeting ISRO’s medical and academic criteria
- Eligible branches: AE, ECE, DD (all streams)
