Best Universities in India 2025 – Survey Methodology:

How the Rankings Were Compiled

The India’s Best Universities 2025 The Week-Hansa Rankings was carried out across 15 cities and aimed to assess universities offering multidisciplinary, technical, and medical education.

To qualify:

  • Universities had to be UGC-recognised.
  • Must offer full-time postgraduate courses in at least two disciplines.
  • Should have graduated at least three batches from their PG programs.

The survey was conducted in two phases:

1. Perceptual Survey:

  • Included inputs from 597 academic experts.
  • Participants nominated and ranked their top 20 universities.
  • The Perceptual Score was calculated based on number of nominations and rank positions.

2. Factual Survey:

  • A detailed questionnaire was circulated online.
  • 63 universities responded.
  • The Factual Score was computed using verified data from universities and secondary sources on:
    • Age and accreditation
    • Infrastructure and facilities
    • Faculty and research
    • Student intake and diversity

The Final Score of the India’s Best Universities 2025 The Week-Hansa Rankings was derived by adding the Perceptual Score (out of 400) and the Factual Score (out of 600), resulting in a composite out of 1000. For universities that didn’t participate in the factual survey but wished to be ranked, interpolated scores based on perceptual rankings were used.
