The Department of Physics, University of Calcutta, invites applications for admission to its Ph.D. Programme in Physics for the academic session 2025, through the Research Eligibility Test (RET). The program is open to candidates with a postgraduate degree in Physics and offers opportunities to pursue research in key areas of modern Physics.

Eligibility
- Essential Qualification: M.Sc. in Physics
- Candidates currently in their final semester may apply, provided they submit marks up to the last completed semester.
Exemption from Written Test
Candidates who have qualified in any of the following are exempted from the written test, but must appear for the interview:
- NET-JRF / NET-LS / NET-Ph.D Admission
- GATE / SET / SLET
- DST-INSPIRE Fellowship holders
- M.Phil. degree holders
