The Forest Research Institute (FRI) Deemed to be University, Dehradun, invites applications for admission to its Ph.D. Programme in Forestry for the term starting March 2025. Candidates who have qualified UGC-NET (including CSIR-NET/GATE/CEED and similar fellowships) or those without fellowships are eligible to apply.
Program Highlights
- Admissions based on the Ph.D. Entrance Test conducted by FRI Deemed to be University.
- Candidates with UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/CEED or similar qualifications are exempted from the entrance test.
- Reserved category candidates will be offered relaxation in accordance with university Ph.D. Ordinance provisions.
Eligibility
- Master’s Degree in relevant disciplines.
- Candidates who qualify UGC-NET/CSIR-NET/GATE/CEED and similar national level examinations are exempt from the Entrance Test.
- Marksheets/scorecards must be valid within the prescribed validity period (generally two years).
- Entrance Test mandatory for other candidates.
Special Provisions
- 5% relaxation in eligibility for candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC (Non-creamy layer)/Differently-abled categories.
- Entrance Test will be conducted in offline (pen and paper) mode.
Admission Procedure
Forest Research Institute Ph.D Forestry 2025 Application Process
- Download the prescribed application form from www.fridu.edu.in.
- Submit the filled application form along with a fee of ₹1,500/- by 31st May 2025.
- Fee should be paid through a bank draft in favor of Registrar, FRI Deemed to be University, Dehradun.
Entrance Test Details
- Subject areas correspond to Forestry and allied sciences.
- After exemption of fellowship-qualified candidates, remaining seats will be filled based on Entrance Test merit.
- Candidates must score the minimum qualifying marks as prescribed in the Ph.D. Ordinance.
